New! Late 18th Century Stays - Pale Blue Grey Floral
Introducing our newest style! These stays are inspired by designs from the later 18th century, specifically from around 1780 to 1790. In the earlier part of the century, stays had minimal hip flare because women wore a bum roll pad over them, creating a stark contrast between the tiny waist and the fullness of the skirts, which sometimes included pocket hoops. However, in the later part of the 18th century, styles evolved to highlight a more natural hip curve. I based my pattern for these stays on historical clothing books, as well as images of stays found in museums and paintings from the era. I have also added a touch of my own style to them.
Our stays are designed to be reversible, offering you versatile styling options. They feature professional-grade grommets on the front, back, and straps, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. For additional support, multiple pieces of half-inch wide steel boning are included in the design.
Please note that the sizing of these stays is specific. For the best fit, your waist should be 4 to 6 inches larger than the listed size.
